The Parachute Effect was developed in direct correlation to the difficulty schools are having – post COVID – to increase academic learning and social/emotional development along with making provision for Special Education concerns related to students with learning disabilities (including FIE, and IEP compliance issues).

For more than 30 years, our professional team has fostered a culture of respect and diversity which is central to working with students, school professionals and personnel.

Mission

To equip schools with advanced tools, activities, and techniques that address reading and math delays for all students to include those with Dyslexia, ADHD, and Specific Learning Disability. We utilize neurodevelopment components to increase student academic performance while assisting schools in meeting State and Federal mandates for Special Education to include IEP compliance issues.

Vision

To accelerate the academic and social/emotional progress of all students while reducing stress on teachers and administrators.

Foundation of Learning

All students have unique abilities. They each have foundational building blocks in the brain that develop throughout their lives. However, some students complete these essential building blocks at a different pace than their peers. The lack of this foundation can leave students falling significantly behind.  Specific Learning Disabilities are often the result of these brain inefficiencies. Enhancing brain function with specific activities found in The Parachute Effect and/or Bedell Boost (for reading, math and dyslexia intervention) bring about accelerated academic and behavioral function. Logical thinking, attention and focus, staying on task, self-regulation, and executive function are positively impacted with The Parachute Effect.

The Parachute Effect is based on the research of brain plasticity as it has been proven that the brain can change and grow with the appropriate stimulation. Dr. Jan Bedell has been utilizing this concept to help students (including those with disabilities) for the last three decades. The Parachute Effect’s whole school application can be coupled with the Bedell Boost for those schools needing assistance with Pull Out interventions.  Benefits are seen in reading recovery, speech (specifically related to language), math intervention, dyslexia, ADHD, and students struggling with social/emotional behavioral challenges. The Parachute Effect ensures that brain inefficiencies are addressed, and that the brain is primed for rapid learning.
